Build Chord Progression From Minor Scale

    
   Hii,. Today i want to share some tips to build  chord progression from minor scale,minor root.Okay,.as we know,in music,minor key is used for sad song or not enthusiastic and sonorous.minor key note more low than major key in the form of pitch and chord.

A chord is made by three note per chord.It is called triad chord which is family notes tha form a chord.If the chord is minor,it has a relative major chord.Relative mean the major is related to minor chord.For example,in key Aminor chord,the Am triad notes is A,C,E..Relative chord for A minor is C major,that use notes C,E,G as a family notes..C,E,G not found in A minor scale : A,B,C,D,E,F,G.That why it is say ‘relative’.

In this session,i want to share an easy tips to buil a minor chord progression from a A minor root.

Below show the easy formula chord progression can be use to make a song good song.

Minor,Diminished,Major,Minor,Minor/Major,Major,Major

Example chord that was built from A minor scale from formula above (A,B,C,D,E,F,G) :

Example	Am	Bdim	C	Dm	E(harmonic)/Em	F	G

Using this formula,we can build chord progression from scale.Let say Am scale have A,B,C,D,E,F,G notes in scale..We can start to build with A,that form Am chord,then B that form Bdiminished chord,..then C that form Cmajor chord and so on untul 7^th note G major..

Scale	A(root)	B	C	D	E	F	G
Chord	Am	Bdim	Cmaj	Dm	Emaj/m	Fmaj	Gmaj

Other that that,we have a special chord that modified from minor chord to form Harmonic minor.Harmonic minor is different with minor scale at the 7^th note in minor scale,the 7^th note is raise to half step in other word is the note is sharped (#).Example Am scale : A,B,C,D,E,F,G, 7^th note is ‘G’ note.This will replace with G# to form a new harmonic minor scale : A,B,C,D,E,F,G#.Easy rite ?

Have look at the 5^th chord in the table above,that is E minor chord build from E,B,G note from Am scale.We can also use E major chord as harmonic chord that use E,B,G# note.We can use either E minor nor E major.

Arrange Chord Progression from Scale

After you finished built chord progression,you must arrange these chord progression to get a better sound to make a good song.To play a good song,arrangement of chord progression is important nad must be emphasized.If you make wrong or bad arrangement,the song u build is note give a better melodic and you will get discordant sound

The common formula arrangement chord is 1,4,7,3,6,5 or  I,IV,VII,III,VI,V.You can vary your arrangement of chords base on your hearing creativity in make a good song.

Example Arrangement of chord from Aminor  chord that was built from Aminor scale :

Scale	A	B	C	D	E	F	G
Chord	1	2	3	4	5	6	7
Chord Type	Am	Bdim	C	Dm	E	F	G

Refer to first type of arrangement 1,4,7,3,6,5,we get the arrangement are Am,Dm,G,F,E, and Am back..Or other arrangement 1,5,6,7,3,4 that form  progression like Am,E,F,C,Dm and back to Am.Good luck,..
